Stairs, doors and other interior joinery
Interior joinery is everything that completes an interior: the staircase, the interior doors, the window sills, the skirting boards. These are things you use every day, and they make the difference between a room that feels finished and one that's still missing something. At Houtwerk we make and install them with the same care as a complete kitchen.

What we make and install
Stairs and stair cladding
Cladding an existing concrete or timber staircase with oak treads and risers, or a new bespoke staircase with handrail.
Interior doors
Flush concealed doors that sit level with the wall, paintable doors or veneered doors, with frames and hardware of your choice.
Glazed doors and glass partitions
Glazed interior doors and glass partitions with a slim black frame that let light through while still dividing spaces.
Window sills and radiator covers
Window sills in wood or in a finish that matches your cabinets, and a cover that neatly conceals the radiator.
Wall and ceiling cladding
Timber cladding for a wall, an alcove or a ceiling, as a warm accent or for better acoustics.
Balustrades and handrails
Safe guarding for a landing or a void, in wood, glass or combined with steel.

A staircase as a centrepiece
You can give an existing staircase a completely new look by cladding it with oak treads and risers. Done well, stair cladding looks like solid wood, with crisp folded edges and no visible joins. We match the wood species and finish to your parquet floor, and can build a bespoke cupboard in under the stairs.

Interior doors that blend into the wall
Flush concealed doors without a visible frame make for calm hallways and landings. The door sits flush with the wall and can be painted the same colour. If you'd rather make a statement, choose a veneered door or a glazed door with a slim black frame that lets the light through.

The finishing touches that tie everything together
Window sills, skirting boards, radiator covers and wall cladding may seem like details, but they determine how finished an interior looks. Because we design them together with the cabinets and floors, lines and materials carry through from one room to the next.
Materials

From our projects
All projectsQuestions we're often asked
Can my existing staircase be clad?
In most cases, yes. We assess the condition and dimensions of the existing staircase during a site visit and tell you honestly whether cladding is the best solution.
What are flush concealed doors?
They are doors without a visible door frame that sit flush with the wall. The hinges are hidden, so the door almost disappears into the wall.
Do you also fit just a few interior doors or window sills?
Yes. Smaller jobs are welcome too. Feel free to request a quote.
